Screen printing: Different designs and fabrics may require different printing techniques. For most substrates solvent based inks are fine, and make up the bulk of garment prints you see in retail outlets, but where a softer feel is important, water based and discharge inks are an option. Special effects are also available, for example glitter, reflective, suede or expanding inks.

Embroidery: The usual logo method for formal shirts, polo shirts and jackets, embroidery is typically chosen to give a more corporate look. Embroidery is diversifying however, and may now mean special stitch methods, applique, and 3D raised effects. All of the above are of course mixed with print on the same garment for fashion and streetwear.
